MARVEL COMICS

We have the pleasure to present to you the first official figure series ready to assemble and paint, based on the Marvel Universe characters. It is a unique event in our small miniature world.

But what is Marvel? What’s its story?

First of all, Marvel Comics is a North American comic publisher. It is also known as "The House of Ideas" because of the creation of quite a numerous and emblematic superhero characters. Some of its best known comics are The Fantastic FourSpiderman, Daredevil, Captain America, The Avengers, Iron ManHulk and The X-Men.  Marvel constitutes one of the biggest publishers of superhero characters and stories since the sixties.

Marvel Comics was founded by Martin Goodman in 1939. It initially started with constant changes in name and some launching failures.  It was originally known as Red Circle Comics or Atlas Comics. In those days, the most popular name (before Marvel Comics) was Timely Comics. The company received its current name from its first important publication, Marvel Comics #1 (October 1939), in which for the very first time a superhero, The Human Torch, and an antihero, Namor, The Submarine Man, appear for the first time. Both characters became a great success for the company, leading almost immediately to their own comic series.

Another popular superhero created in that early stage was the patriotic Captain America. During the fifties, new monstrous and science fiction stories replaced the superheroes ones.  However, at the beginning of the sixties decade, Marvel Comics tried to return to the superhero genre. Thus, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created The Fantastic Four. This comic was an absolute success which revitalized the company that then started a long list of titles around a bunch of new superhero characters. The most popular of them all was, undoubtedly, The Amazing Spiderman created by Lee and Ditko in August 1962.

In the ensuing decades Marvel Comics has been in continuous growth. Increasing the number of collections and creating a whole legion of new characters. Enlarging the number of its followers through new media channels such as films and video games based on its already popular characters. In this process, Marvel Comics has created characters that have become certainly frequent in our popular culture such as Spiderman, Wolverine, Iron Man, Hulk, and so on…

It is a great honour for us to present to you this completely unique figure series, ready to assemble and paint, inspired on the world's favourite comic characters.

Welcome to the Marvel Universe.
